Noted for his "beautiful and lyrical sound" and "mature interpretation and fine control" (Place de l'Opéra), tenor Gabe Clarke embarks on a highly anticipated debut season in 2024-2025.

Mr. Clarke's Spanish debut arrives as Elvino in Bellini's ethereal La Sonnambula with Ópera de la vera — Ras de terra. The Orquesta Ensemblement y Coro de Extremadura, conducted by Juan Pablo Valencia Heredia and directed by William Costabile Cisco, will bring this enchanting opera to life. Additionally, Clarke will delight young audiences in a children's adaptation of Wagner's iconic Der fliegende Holländer in Lübeck. Mr. Clarke's season culminates with a particularly prestigious engagement: the title role of Lord Arturo Talbo in Bellini's I Puritani with the Hamburger Kammeroper. Under the baton of Ettore Prandi and with the Rungholt Ensemble, Clarke's portrayal of Arturo promises to be a highlight of the season, offering audiences a showcase into this character's emotional turmoil and vocal brilliance. With this third Bellini role debut, Gabe Clarke solidifies his position as a promising talent in the bel canto repertoire, showcasing his versatility, technical skill, and unwavering commitment to the genre.

For the 2023-2024 season, Mr. Clarke demonstrated his artistic versatility with exciting debuts such as Bill in Dove's Flight and Victorin in Korngold's Die Tote Stadt. He also lent his talents to the beloved role of Rinuccio (cover) in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. Furthermore, he had the distinct honor of participating in the world premiere of Russell Heppelwhite's timely new opera, The Crash, where he portrayed the role of Peter Zilko.

In the 2022-2023 season, Mr. Clarke joined the ensemble of the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater as a member of the Opernstudio, performing as James in Giuseppe Gazzaniga's rarity, l'Isola d'Alcina, Beppe in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Lord Stephen Spettigue in Fischer's Charlie's Tante, and Ein Sänger (cover) in Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier.

During the 2021-2022 season, Mr. Clarke made his debut as Tamino in the Dutch National Opera Academy's production of Die Zauberflöte conducted by Patrick Lange and directed by Gabriele Rech. Further solidifying his Mozart credentials, he then debuted as Ferrando in Così fan tutte with the Bredeweg Festival in Amsterdam. A versatile performer, he also performed in the Dutch premiere of Carl Heinrich Graun's Cleopatra e Cesare (Tolomeo), as well as that of Dominick Argento's Postcard from Morocco (Man with old luggage).

In the 2020-2021 season, Mr. Clarke made his German debut as Alfred in his second production of the season of Johann Strauß' Die Fledermaus at the Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen. A notable highlight of the season was his portrayal of Le Prince Charmant in Pauline Viardot's rarely performed opera Cendrillon. He also covered Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni with the Orchestra of the 18th Century under the baton of the late Kenneth Montgomery. Mr. Clarke's additional recent performances include Prologue/Quint in Britten's The Turn of the Screw, Brighella in Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, and Tebaldo in Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi.

Mr. Clarke is equally at home on the concert stage, having sung a wide range of oratorio and sacred music. He made his Sweelinck Barokorkest debut as the tenor soloist in Mozart's Mass in C minor, conducted by Jos van Veldhoven. His other notable performances as the tenor soloist include Mozart's Requiem, César Franck's Les Sept Paroles du Christ, Saint-Saens' Oratorio de Noël, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, and Puccini's Messa di Gloria, among others.

Mr. Clarke is a recent graduate of the Dutch National Opera Academy, where he earned a Master of Music (MMus) in Opera. He also possesses a Bachelor of Music (BMus) in Classical Singing from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he was awarded an AHK Talent Grant.
